My Wisdom Teeth Extraction Experience

Hello peeeeeps!
My parents are out golfing and my bro is working upstairs. I am sitting on a couch downstairs in comfy clothes with bed-head listening to music and typing up my experience yesterday for you guys!

Yes, my two wisdom teeth came out yesterday. Woot! One less thing to worry about. But, really, it wasn't bad at all. I was nervous when I first came in, but that's kinda normal. Although if I had to pick which was scarier (dentist's or doctor's appointment) I'd pick dentist and that includes the ortho, too, because I had to get my jaw widened and my underbite fixed with metal appliances they put in my mouth...ugh.

Back to my wisdom teeth, the thing I was most scared about wasn't the IV they had to put in my arm. I was nervous about being put under. Like, what would it feel like? Would I dream or would it be just black? Will I know?
You see, I like to know what's going on all the time, but I was going to be out of control in this situation.

My second fear was if I was going to be so loopy afterwards that I would embarrass myself. AND my mom and brother were going to record me even after I tried to plead with them...They said I would want to see what I did. Frankly, I could care less about watching myself be weird. *shudders*

I think people get worked up over wisdom teeth because people make it sound scarier than it actually is. Everyone has a different experience with it. Both of my older brothers were different and I was too. None of us were super loopy like what people post on Youtube. (Except for one of my brothers, who jumped in the air and kicked his feet together to say he was okay which was unlike him and my parents were scared he was going to hurt himself...but that was it, hah.) I was determined to not be loopy, so maybe that helped, but my mom said I was a little feisty. :P

Okay, now to the actual story. I wrote this as soon as we got into the car because I had gauzes in my mouth making it so I couldn't speak that well and I wanted to remember the experience as best I could, lest I forget. My mom told me if she didn't already know I was a writer, she does now. xD

~*~

When I first came into the room, it was cold. The doctor's assistant had a warm blanket ready though. She didn't give me the calming pills like they said they would. :( [They had said at my consultation that I could take some calming pills to help me not be so nervous when they put the IV in.] She tried putting the IV into my right arm first...twice. So she put it in my left arm and that worked. It didn't hurt that bad, just a pinch. [But I had to go through it 3 times xD]
She left and I was left alone with the constant beeping of a monitor. At least they had music. After what felt like 30 minutes, the doctor came in saying he was going to give me some happy drugs. Haha. I got more nervous for that because I didn't know what it felt like to be put under.
All of a sudden, my vision starting getting blurry. They put something in my mouth to keep it open and someone said that I was going to be feeling some cold air. (I think in my nose because they hooked up an oxygen mask there.) [Not an actual mask, just two plugs in my nose.]
The doctor asked me who was with me and I said my brother and my mom. Then I felt nothing. Blackness... as if I were sleeping, but I didn't know it either.
Next thing I knew, I was waking up, but it felt more like I was dreaming. [You know in movies where a character blacks out and the screen goes black, but then starts blinking as if we are seeing through the character's eyes as he wakes up? It felt like that.] The assistants over me were chatting about something, taking off the clips on my wrists and finger. That's when I realize I really was awake.
    Wow, that was fast.
I was still dizzy after I woke up and my mom and an assistant helped me stand up and walk to the car. I probably would've fallen if it wasn't for their help because of how dizzy I was.
And throughout this trip back home, my brother is filming me and my mom is laughing even though I have no idea why.
Ben asked me to dab and I knew he was recording, so I didn't want to do it, but I did a weak one, anyway, for his sake. And he tested me on math. [And I got everything correct, haha!]

~*~

He also told me to say one thing that I would say to people to inspire them (or something like that).

I wrote:
I'm not that loopy that I'd say something stupid! [I thought he wanted me to be weird.]

Then I wrote:
Be confident in yourself and don't compare yourself with any other person. You are you.

There you have it. Words of wisdom by a girl recovering from being put under. :P

But seriously, don't compare yourself to others. Accept yourself for who you are. If everyone was the same person this would be a boring planet. ;) <3

Today, I am doing well. My jaw is sore and I can't open my mouth very wide. Half of my bottom lip and chin is numb still, but that doesn't bother me much.
I have to say, it was nice being spoiled a little. :P Having nice drinks and yogurt and jello and pudding and just lying around all day.
I'm glad I'm better today though. I don't like doing nothing for long.

Man, they give you a lot of pills to take though...which makes me tired, so that's no fun. Ah well, these are good days to finish editing. :)

Do you have experience with your wisdom teeth?
Hope you enjoyed my story. :P

Books, Books, And More Books

I'm a bibliophile (a person who collects or has a great love of books). Yas...yasss...YAAASSSSS. MY PRECIOOUUUSSS. BOOKS ARE LIFE <3

Okay, ehem.

Recently, I've been collecting books to read and my TBR pile keeps getting bigger and it is awesome.

These past couple months I've been reading the Chaos Walking series, recommended by my lovely friend Anna, and it is absolutely AMAZING! THE FEELZ.  I just started the last book of the series, Monsters of Men, this week. I totally recommend this book to anyone 14+! (It has a bit of cussing in it.)

I also finished the first book in the Hunger Games series this week and it was so good! SOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE MOVIE....which my family watched and it made me not want to read the books for a while, but my friends also recommended the series and I found all of the books at a yardsale for only $1.50 and I'm so glad I bought them 'cause I can't wait to start on the next book, but first I gotta finish Monsters of Men. (gasps for air)

My mom (thanks Mom <3) bought me a book I've been wanting for a long time this past week, as well. The Beautiful Pretender by Melanie Dickerson. Yay! I've been wanting her to do a Princess and the Pea retelling because I saw so much potential with that story and she also combined it with my all time favorite princess story, Beauty and the Beast!

Today I found The Maze Runner at a yardsale for only 50 cents. Booyah! I know it was turned into a movie and I've heard some things about it, but not exactly sure what I'm about to dive into when I read the book besides the fact that they are trying to escape a maze...

Anyway, here is a list of my TBR books (that I have with me) in order of when I shall read them:

(After Monsters of Men)

1. Catching Fire

2. Mockingjay

3. The Beautiful Pretender

4. The Maze Runner

There are a lot of other books that I want to read that my friends recommended, but I don't have them yet, so I won't add them to my reading list.

EEK, I WANT TO READ THEM ALL RIGHT NOW, BUT I DON'T WANT TO GET THROUGH THEM SO FAST.

Independence Day Pictures

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July!
I had a BLAST with friends (pun intended. xD)

There was a cool mist while the sun was setting. I tried to get a good pic, but it's a little grainy. :P

We have lilies blooming and they have been growing well with all the rain we've been getting! They are so pretty!

Thanks for reading!
I'll try to post regularly, but there hasn't been much going on. I've been relaxing because it's Summer, haha.

Prom!

Prom was so much fun a couple weeks ago!

My friends and I.

I was going for a vintage/bohemian look, plus I can wear the dress again after prom. :) My mom photographed these of me.

I had to get a pic with my kitty, but she doesn't look too happy about it, haha.

Life Update: Vacation!!

A couple weeks ago my family (except for my two older brothers 'cause they're in college ;( ) went on vacation to Florida! It was so fun and relaxing. The ocean was clear and the sand was like sugar. This was my favorite beach vacation! Then we went to Magic Kingdom for the last day. So anyway, here are pics:

They had the best shells here! We found this one, but found a little inhabitant living there.

We went air boating, which was super fun, and saw some alligators!

It's kinda hard to see, but here is a manatee!

We saw dolphins, but I couldn't get a good picture. It was so cool though!

Disney World!!

These mosaics were made all with little tiles!

My favorite part in this park was the light show at the end!

This was the best pic I got from the light parade.

It was a really fun trip with the fam. :)
Now tonight, I am going to my first prom! Look out for that post!
Thanks for reading!

Life Update: Shortest Haircut I've Ever Had!

What's up you guys? Hope y'all are doing well!

A few days ago, my mom and I had our hair done! I was going to just have a couple inches cut off, so my hair would lay a little shorter than my shoulders, but since I rarely go to a salon, I decided to take a risk and asked for a pixie cut. I was a little scared, what if it looked weird? But I knew my hair would grow back, so I went through with it and now I love it! I also had a few strips of hair dyed pink! :)

This was taken on Easter.
Speaking of which, I hope everyone had a fun-filled Easter! Isn't it amazing that Jesus died for us and rose again on the third day? It makes me so happy and awed that He would do that. Death couldn't hold Him and, now, we can live with Him! This is such an amazing, wonderful holiday.

Thanks for reading! :D

Life Update: Kittens!

Hey guys!

Our pregnant cat gave birth to five adorable kittens on March 4th! They are just too precious. Two of the light brown kitties are boys and the rest are girls. Here are some pics!

The first week:

The second week:

Aren't they so adorable! Check out our website and Instagram for other pics! :)

~*~

This weather! It's sooo beautiful! I'm so glad the cold is gone! Although, I would like it to stay spring for a bit. It seems that it goes from winter to a tiny bit of spring, then, BANG, it's summer and your sweating like crazy. I'm glad though to be able to wear shorts and t-shirts though. I feel so free! Haha! The pollen, though...bleh.

I hope to post more. So...yeah...*tries to think of post ideas*
Well, hope...

Since I'm also editing my novel from NaNoWriMo, I don't really have a posting schedule. Good news is that I'll have my novel done and on an Ebook in spring. I was hoping to actually get done editing by the end of March, but I still have about 14 chapters left. I say "about" because after I edit a chapter, I hand it to my dear mom and she edits that and gives it back to me! She's given me lots of good tips, like where I need to expand or delete. She's awesome. :)

Hope y'all are doing well! Thanks for reading! <3

My Book Came In!! / Infinity Dreams Award

Guyyysss!!! A few days ago the draft of my NaNo book came in!! I had to wait 2 weeks for it, but IT'S HEEERREEEE!!

I designed the cover, but the colors are a little off. I may have not used the right color format. It's suppose to be a little more red. Like the back it goes from brown to red, but it's suppose to be dark red to a lighter red. It's sooo cool, though, to see my book that I created as an actual book! ^-^

Yeah, that's my face on the front cover (I took a selfie to test it, but it actually turned out well on the first try ;P) and I just edited the photo to make my hair red and to change the background to a forest. I may change the cover or tweak a few things later.

I hope to finish edited it and get it out on eBook in summer!

I was tagged by Anna from the fascinating world of Demigods & Unicorns for the Infinity Dreams Award! Thanks Anna! <3 (Check out her blog! It's amazing!)

The Rules...
~Use the Infinity Dreams Picture
~Thank the Blogger who tagged you
~Tell us 11 facts about yourself
~ Answer the 11 questions given to you
~ Tag 11 bloggers (and come up with 11 new questions for them)

Alright, now unto the facts.
*You probably know, but I wrote a novel and am currently editing it.
*I love cats! My family and I are breeding Ragdoll kitties as well.
*I love the bohemian look!
*Granny smith apples are my favorite.
*My favorite T.V. shows are Once Upon A Time, American Idol, and Survivor.
*I play the violin and guitar.
*I love steampunk stuff.
*I want to learn sword fighting or/and bow and arrow skills. (I mean it'll help with writing...right?)
*I was happy that flossing would be easier because of no braces...yup
*I have two wisdom teeth that will have to come out this year .-.
*This is the last fact and am happy that this is. It's really hard of thinking up interesting facts. xD

Now to answer Anna's questions:

1. Would you rather go a year without reading or a year without listening to music?
Why do you torture me so? Uuuugh, I would say a year without music even though it pains me to think about that.

2. Would you rather have really short hair or really long hair?
Hmm, I love both! I even want to try a pixie cut someday...maybe...but I really love long hair because then you can braid it and do more things with it. So long hair it is.

3. If you had to live in a fictional world, which fictional world would you choose and
why?
Camp Halfblood and all those places from Percy Jackson!! Well, that's not a world...but still. xD The camp sounds so fun and the pegasus and sword fighting and bows. Plus CTF sounds fun, 'cause you get to use real weapons and the missions sound scary, but fun and adventurous.

4. Do you like December or July best?
December, because I love snow and my birthday is in December and also Christmas and yaaassss...

5. What's your current favorite song?

I LOVE MUSIIICCC. My brothers just showed me some new Christian songs that are realllyyy catchy. Here are two:
Mine - Hollyn & Believer - Capital Kings

6. What is the longest you've ever gone without sleep?
The only time I can think of that was the longest was when my youth group held a Lock-In. Basically we stay up all night playing games, and doing other fun activities, and worship, and breakfast. So, I've stayed up for around 24 hrs.

7. What color shirt are you wearing right now?
Blood Red (Yes, I added an adjective because just "red" is boring. xD)

8. Chocolate or Vanilla?
CHOCOLATE ALL DA WAY

9. What's your favorite quote? (It can be from the Bible, from a book, a movie, a
song, anything.)

I have a lot of favorite quotes. Especially since I post quotes for the week. Well, like I said in the last post, my recent favorite verse is: Who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this? ~ Esther 4:14

10. What's the last book you read?
Champion from the Legend trilogy. THE ENDING. OMW. THE FEELZ. Right now, though, I'm reading Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It's the book form of the movie, which is AWESOME. IF YOU LOVE STAR WARS YOU WILL LOVE IT. WAIT, IF YOU DON'T LIKE STAR WARS, YOU WILL LOVE IT AFTER THAT MOVIE, BUT MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE MOVIES IN ORDER, DON'T WORRY, IT'S WORTH IT!!!! ;P

11.  What is one movie you hate? (And what made you detest it so?)
Both Percy Jackson movies. UGH, SO TERRIBLE. It's not like the books at all! And they are boring. Plus, in the movie they are 16, but in the books they're 12 then 13! And Annabeth is a brunette in the movie....She's suppose to be a blonde. I could go on, but you get the gist.

That was fun! Now it's my turn to give out questions:
1. Plastic or glass cups?
2. What book would you want in movie form (and it'd actually follow the book and be amazing)?
3.Would you rather use a melee weapon (sword/up close fighting weapon) or range weapon?
4. Do you want to become famous?
5. What do you feel when you see your name in a book? [Or what would you feel (if you haven't read a book with your name in it)?]
6. What was one book you had to stop because it was soooo boring or hard to understand?
7. What have you done that was so embarrassing you wished you could hide or press a reset button?
8. Would you rather have super long finger nails or super long eyebrow hair?
9. What was something you became soooo excited for?
10. Top 3 favorite hobbies?
11. Can you type a sentence with your eyes closed?

And I tag anyone who wants to do this!! Have fun!!

QOTW / Leadership Trip Story

~*~

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day! :)

This past weekend, my youth group held a leadership trip for one day and night. It was amazing! We are all leaders because we lead ourselves and leading ourselves is the basic, yet hardest form of leadership. They taught about overcoming fears and insecurities as well.

Lots of people are more afraid of speaking in front of people than death. (Which would be me, because I DO NOT like being in the spotlight, unless other people are with me...) So, guess what our youth pastor had us do? He made all of us memorize a verse that we liked, then called us up in the front and say that verse to everyone. He had us do it several times and made us start over if we didn't speak loud enough or said "um" or stumbled through. He wanted us to get over our fear.

Then, he had us do it again, but this time say why we liked our verse. Thankfully I wasn't first so I could think about it. Well, I did know why I liked it, I just had to put it in words, if you know what I mean. xD (Oh, and my most recent favorite verse is "Who knows whether you have not been called to the kingdom for such a time as this?" - Esther 4:14)

I thought we were done after that, and I felt so relieved, but nope. He had us all stand in a line at the front and he called one of us at a time to step forward and say the same things again, but this time he and some other teachers asked about our verse and what some things mean. It was so scary because we didn't know what we we would be questioned. I love preparing and knowing what was gonna happen, but this time I didn't... My heart was thumping so hard and, ugh, I wanted to relax about it, but I couldn't. .-.

The funniest thing about this trip was that the boys seemed to talk more than the girls. Like, we talked and all, but the guys, man...

So, we had to be in our cabins by 12 at night (oh, and the guys area was right next to the girls area, it was just separated by a wall.) and the girls were ready and in bed trying to sleep at 12:30.
The guys, on the other hand, were playing cards as far as I could tell/hear. The walls were not soundproof at all. I could here them shuffling the cards and that's not very loud...The guys talked about random things, including my brother telling the story about how he got his braces caught on the carpet (that was hilarious) and another guy talking about how he hardly had any arm and leg hair...that was very...weird...(and he was embarrassed when we told him we heard that xD)

The guys talked and played games till around 2:00am and I did not get to sleep before they were quiet...which wasn't very quiet because someone had the loudest snore ever. I woke up at different times during the night, but oh well. It was annoying at that time, but now it's funny. :P

Overall, the trip was super fun with great teaching. :)

Btw, this christian song is sooo catchy: Into Your Arms - Capital Kings Just had to put that out there. xD

QOTW / Lately I've Been...

~*~
(Lately I've been, I've been losin' sleep...The title makes me want to break out into that song...)
Sorry for not posting in a while! Things have been quite busy over here.

On Thursday, my family and I drove off to Charlotte. My oldest brothers were going to be staying at UNC, Charlotte and would be getting their dorm on Sunday. My parents decided to have one last little family trip before my brothers leave. They took us to The Great Wolf Lodge for a day!

Yes, my younger brother used his GoPro at the water park. xD The footage is pretty cool!

The two Green and Yellow slides were definitely the best. The yellow one goes straight down for about 2 seconds (usually I don't like those, but this was real quick) and then it opened up and we rode up and down the sides. The green one, which is my favorite out of the two, twists and turns and goes pretty fast and it's just so fun!

Saturday we explored a big mall and then Sunday came. We went to the grocery store and picked up some items. We helped them unpack and get organized from 1pm - 5pm. It was quite busy. I was sad as the realization hit me that we would be leaving soon without them.

Last pic of us siblings together before we left.

We left and headed home. It was hard, but it's easier now. We have all chatted together and they are doing well and liking their classes so that's good. :)

There was a beautiful sunset on the way home!

Now school has started back up again and so has the urgency of finishing my novel. Yeah, I still haven't finished my novel from NaNo...procrastination is my enemy. It's time for me to get hardcore about it. I'm glad that there isn't a lot I have to write still!

What have you been doing recently?
